On May 25th, 2021 it was a real pleasure to conduct an online webinar with Graham Miller of Media Vu. “How To Sell It How To Tell It” showed attendees some sales fundamentals appropriate for the 2020’s and how to portray yourself in the best possible light on Zoom and similar platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Remo and Blue Jeans.
I was first up and pointed out a number of sales golden rules. Possibly the most important was getting clients to think through what value they offer to their clients. Is it a standard ‘solution solve’ or something more nuanced and totally customer-centric? I claimed that the term USP is now redundant and that we ought to use UV or Unique Value.
Former ITV sports presenter Graham Miller then went through some fundamentals of getting your point across live on air. Graham mentioned the two basic tips: a) Is your PC and camera equipment working and positioned correctly and b) Are you sitting in the correct position? Another great tip is to stick a Post-It on your monitor with the word “SMILE”. Nobody wants to deal with someone with a grumpy expression…..
